That Patrick Roy, he's quite good, isn't he? After being named
Rookie of the Year in 1985-1986, he has won four Stanley Cups and is the NHL's
winningest goaltender.
He started his career at Montreal, but the 11-year period came to an abrupt end when, against Detroit on December 2nd 1995, he was left in goal to be scored on nine times before being pulled. He announced that he had finished playing for the Canadiens and, four days later, went to Colorado. The rest is history. He won the Stanley Cup that season with the Avs. This season it happened again, with Roy posting astonishing playoff statistics of 1.74 and .932. His regular season stats were 2.21 GAA - a career best - and .913. He also set a career-high number of wins. |
